Agreed  - there is no evidence these babies will be as healthy, and  plenty
that they won't be. We just don't know the severity of the difference,  but we
know there will be one. Kudos to you for not trying to make mom's feel  better
with lies. This is not punishing it's acknowledging that what they did is
helpful, even if not optimal. We wouldn't say to a mom "your baby will be fine
if you keep smoking" so she would feel ok about that decision. I am admittedly
 feeling very uppity today, because it occurs to me that the certificates
would  be really powerful if they read "giving your baby the best start in life
by  breastfeeding for at least 12 months" but then cross out the 12 and write
in  3...:)
