Another very concerning "absence" at our conferences
in the USA are women of color. I can only guess that
the reason is that there are very few professional
breastfeeding specialists of color. And the question
is why? Is our prpofession is limitied in outreach?
for education and preparation? what is our
understanding of the breastfeeding experience (or lack
of) in communities of color? How can we change this?
A discussion of this topic is necessary and long
overdue. Anne Andrianos IBCLC, LLLl, RN Syracuse, NY USA
