Dear Dianne,

I just listed to a lecture on tape by Kathleen Huggins on Moms at risk
for no or low milk production. It's entitled " The Breastfeeding Underfed
Baby". She spends the first part of the tape talking about some possible
identifying physical characteristics in this group of high risk moms. She
says later in the tape that some of the moms who present with no initial milk
production or very delayed milk production sometimes with pumping and herbs
will slowly develop a milk supply or at least a partial milk supply. One
woman she worked with was able to wean from supplementing at 5 weeks although
she initially had no milk production by day 5 (I think it was day 5). The
whole tape was terriffic and describes her clinic's identification and
treatment of moms and babies who are at risk for underfeeding. I got it at
the BSC conference in Arizona in June but just listened to it today. I highly
recommend it!!! And it was inexpensive. Kathleen if you are listening in
today THANK YOU!
