I have a "help form" question from a mom with a plugged duct condition.
She's been suffering for six weeks with it and while I don't have any
experience with plugged milk ducts myself, I thought it usually clears
up after the baby nurses and/or applied heat or massage. Does anyone have
any recommendations? Thank you in advance.

"My question centers around my clogged milk duct. My breast is
very red and I'm in constant pain. There is no infection. I have had it
for about six weeks. I continue to put up with it to feed my baby. I
would prefer to continue breastfeeding but I'm concerned that I might
need to wean my baby earlier due to this problem. I have applied heat
and massage for temporary relief but has continued to worsen. I've
consulted two doctors and they have told me two different things. One
said I will be stuck with this until I wean my baby. The other said to
keep the milk flowing. Can you recommend any tips for relief? If weaning
is the answer, can I dry up on the problem side only and continue nursing
on the other?"

LLLove, Maggie (who ate too much Easter dinner!)
