Linda Pinkus shared a tip from the AOL Mom's Online-Breastfeeding Link
about the use of hydrogen peroxide on cracked nipples.
In my area, this was recommended frequently five years or so ago--
however, it seemed to work so well that a "seal" formed over the nipple
pores. (i never had experience with this). Then we only recommended
it if the crack was at the base of the nipple, away from the nipple pores.

Speaking of this sight, I e-mailed one of the volunteer professionals to ask
if the "hot tips" were reviewed because i noted one suggestion to use vitamin
E for sore nipples. Because of the potential problems with these sugggestions
I was concerned. I did get a reply...and she agreed and stated she too was
concerned about this one sight. However, the "tips" are still there, sent in
by nursing moms.
