Hello,

I am an IBCLC and will be traveling to Northern Iraq to work in a refugee camp. The situation is quite dire because organizations initially came in with formula and many of the moms milk supply has decreased or dried up completely. The wo man issues are that: aid is starting to decrease and is expected to stop completely in the next several months which means that there will be no formula for these families (and they don't have money to purchase formula), and formula and bottles present a problem due to the possibility of using water that is not safe thus contributing the diarrheal disease. I am going for two weeks and will be training several local people, but I would appreciate any resources you have for relactation (when electric pumps are not an option). Thank you!

Anna Singleton, BS, IBCLC
