Dear Friends:

The uterus starts contracting from the moment of implantation..........and
contracts periodically and randomly all throughout pregnancy. And during
orgasm and oxytocin release.

Wouldn't it be great if our bodies just exercised whenever they needed, as
our uteri do? No thought or planning required?

Braxton and Hicks got credit for identifying this phenomenon....but it was
women doing it all along.

I imagine that some women have greater uterine sensitivity than others and
this may contribute to risk of premature labor. However, I feel that weaning
in these cases is more of a way to protect her feelings. she would feel
awful if she lost another baby and had been breastfeeding, whether the
breastfeeding actually did anything or not. If she is struggling with
fertility, she needs to do everything possible to help herself.

So weaning becomes a choice here and we may never learn if it actually makes
a difference or not. Such a study could never be done.

warmly,
