Hi I am an independent Rn, childbirth educator and lactation consultant in
Maryland and had to jump in regarding "natural childbirth".  My main goals
right now are mothering my 4 kids so I haven't really gotten into the
practice work too much.  My 13 year old daughter is in public school doing
her 8th grade health section.  She informed me that her health teacher told
them that giving birth was "like going to hell and back".  A letter will be
sent to the teacher post haste as I am beginning to see privately how our
kids of today are trained to thought of the childbirth experience!  No
wonder the epideral epidemic is present -- they are taught about them
before they are taught about the positive childbirth experience.   Have a
