I do not have any legal expertise but I was called three times for jury duty
while lactating (for eight years).  I volunteered to come right down but,
since my nursing child was non-seperating, I was going to bring him.  They
always called me right back and said they didn't need me badly enough to
have my baby in court.  Your mom might want to give it a try.
