I'm thinking, maybe some padding inside the sling on either side of the
hematoma, maybe a dense sponge foam, cut to fit?  It would save cutting up the
sling, which I'm afraid would weaken it.  Those foam baby bath thingies might be
a good start.  I'd use maybe just the top half, then depending on where the
hematoma was, cut the half foam piece straight across at that point.  It may be
difficult manuevering (sp!) baby and foam supports into the sling.  Not sure.
