Ann, I have had two patients with this same challenge.  Both were, after
some practice with a mirror, able to nurse best while side lying.  Hanging
a mirror on the bed rail or other good spot helped until they "learned" how
to manipulate themselves and baby to a good position.  It all becomes a bit
easier when the baby's get a bit larger and more competent at doing their
own latch.
