Yes, we've all banged our heads against the walls of whatever institution or
community we live in...but each week in my job I get to hear about the walls
that are beginning to tumble down.  After a year of traveling to 9 States,
giving an intensive conference to WIC Programs and their community partners,
we are hearing of wonderful things happening.  Tales of partnerships that
would have never been dreamed of ten years ago.  Chamber of Commerce
embracing breastfeeding support as one of their goals in their work to make
the community family friendly.  Breastfeeding supporters approaching labor
unions with working and breastfeeding information.  Time being set aside at
Physician staff meetings so breastfeeding support information can be shared.
WIC and Extention Programs partnering to sponsor and run Peer Counseling
Programs.  Amazing things are happening out there!

So don't lose heart...all that work is beginning to pay off...it just takes
time and renewed energy.  But it is working.
