Saw that poster at the meeting, and had a chance to talk to the docs
involved. Apparently the average increase was to double the supply within
a week, with some moms increasing a bit more than that, and a few getting
less of an increase. This study was done in moms who were exclusively
pumping, so amounts were easily measurable. Most moms were pumping for
premies, but a couple were full-terms that had medical
problems. Impressive study, well-controlled for other variables (pumping
routines, etc.) They plan to submit to one of the journals for publication.
