My babies have always been weighed flat on their backs, because at the 
same time the nurse would stretch them out for a length measurement.  
It was always a terrible way to start the visit.  Can length be 
measured prone?

Our health dept locally has a scale that has a reclined seat on it, and 
the one time we used it, it was much less traumatic.
