I had this same situation and had a mammogram and ultrasound all of which came back fine. Mine were normal fibroid cysts that filled with milk and while they didn't become infected were quite painful. This had no affect on my supply and was about the size of a golf ball at the worst. I would have them drained by a breast surgeon periodically so that they wouldn't become too sore, but otherwise it was no big deal. I hope that helps.

Subject: large breast lumps

hello

I have a client with a 3 week old who is experiencing breastlumps. She had
one evaluated prenatally with ultrasound and it is benign. Now she has two
more in her left breast. the largest is 1 1/2 to 2 inches llong and about
1 inch wide. It is at 6 to7 o' clock where her breast meets her chest wall.
The others are under her arm. They are not hot or tender or red . They are
quite firm. Her midwife told her it was a plugged duct and that she needed
to work it out. she has applied heat and done massage while nursing and
expessing, she has applied cold and the lumps do not change shape or soften
in any way. It son't feel like a plugged duct to me, but it is hard to
describe why it dosn't. That breast is producing a fair amount of milk. 4 oz
at a pumping with an ISIS and she pumps 2 oz from the other breast. Only
pumps occasionally.

Does any one have any experience with lumps like this.

thank you
