I am a fairly new Lactnetter, so please be patient with me...
I have searched the archives for information regarding mastitis as it
relates to breast cancer. Is there a connection, such as being a sign of
developing cancer or contributing factor to developing breast cancer? I am
looking for references. I have a mom who had recurrent mastitis in one
breast while breastfeeding and several years later was diagnosed with cancer
in that breast. I found a couple of references in the archives, but none are
available to me locally at our library.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Beth, RN, IBCLC
