Fiona,

My main point to my response is that LLL Leaders and LCs are NOT
responsible if a mother quits. If someone tells you or anyone else that she
quit because she didn't get a return call, she might as well say that she
didn't have enough milk. It is just an excuse. Why didn't she call again!
If a mom really wants to nurse, she will get help. And if it is not from
you, she will FIND someone. One time, I actually dealt with a persistent 12
year old (<no this is not a typo). She was supposed to get assistance from
WIC, but for some reason or another no one helped her. She called me and
several others. She was very persistent. I went over to her home to help
relieve initial engorgement, without pay, that afternoon! If the mother is
determined enough, she will nurse her baby.
