At our hospital, we do not rent breastpumps. We do have a listing of
breastpump rental companies that the family can choose to rent from. The
physicians do need to write an order for medical need for the breastpump to
be covered by insurance.
Some of the rental stations deliver to the hospital. For those that
receive WIC, we may refer them to WIC for a breastpump.

We have 3 postpartum floors in our hospital, and we do rooming-in. The
baby's healthcare provider does the exam in the mother's room. The mother
and infants charts are together in one chart at the room door. The
equipment for the exam is either in the room, or is on a roller stand that
can be brought to the room. We have approx. 600 - 700 births per month.
