Linda,
My post was NOT about suspicions about the "funding source" for the US
National Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign. It was about the US Breastfeeding
Committee's request for funding from the DHHS.
http://www.usbreastfeeding.org/News-and-Events.html click on USBC Summary of
the Issues National Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign

According to the United States Breastfeeding Committe website, the USBC
requested "assistance from the DHHS in funding community-based breastfeeding
support services." There is a 5-6 page list of the 18 community-based demonstration
projects listed at--http://www.4woman.gov/owh/community.htm

Thus some IBCLCs in our community are or will be funded by the DHHS. Funding
effects what we say and do. This is the reason that journals request a
listing of funding sources in order to detect bias. While government funding may
be considered unbiased, a government agency headed by political appointment may
not be unbiased.

The hiring of the Ad Council to do the ads on breastfeeding might be
considered questionable particularly when one notices the funding sources for the Ad
Council (Nestle being one of those companies)

We are living in times where there is a punishment for independent/critical
thinking professionally and personally. It impacts us all. There is not one
way to think or look at science or art or breastfeeding or politics. A
breastfeeding advocate may like or dislike the Ads. An advocate may not like the way
in which this campaign has been handled. Is public voicing of that opinion
disloyalty or crying wolf?
