I thought I was careful to not get my name on any marketing list during my pregnancy, but alas, some how it happened. At around 2-3 weeks I got a big box with free samples of formula for my special infant. Then again around two months. And now special coupons for my now four month old.

With the first box I thought I'd try to send it back. So I marked the box "Return to Sender, Unsolicited Mail" and put it back in the mailbox. The post office did indeed take it back, so I've been doing it each time.

Although I do believe artificial baby milk (formula) has a time & place, I think it undermines a woman's-my-ability to breastfeed when mothers who are nursing continually receive formula samples & coupons. But if mom a receives them you can advise them to donate it to their local food bank, or start a new movement to just Return to Sender.

Just a thought. Thanks,
