I'd like to agree with Lara.  Saying that babies bond with the bottle isn't
accurate.  But generalized statements usually aren't accurate :-)  There are
ways to bottle feed and then there are ways to BOTTLE feed, if you get what
I mean.  I didn't BF my first 2 children, but I held them for every bottle
and altho they patted the bottle (not my breast :-( they looked at me!  The
eye contact was similar to what I experienced with my other BF babies.  I do
agree with Karen's description of the differences with breastfeeding and
bottlefeeding.  The close physical contact that continues for such a long
time is lost to the bottlefeeders as soon as the baby decides I can do this
myself (hold my bottle and eat).  Breastfed baby just can't do it
him/herself!  It's just not an all or none situation.  I hope you all
