Dear Joan,
If the baby is not getting the fats due to an oversupply the mother 
could try doing a "milk shake". I am not sure who came up with this 
idea, I do remember Cathy Watson Genna talking about it, but I have 
found it works well. Have the mother give a good, vigorous massage 
before breastfeeding. This should help homogenize the breastmilk so the 
baby gets fats right away.
An easy thing to try. Let us know if it works.
