To all the smart people on the list,
Im a LLLLeader and nursing student. I got the list everyday for
awhile, but school and life has been too busy. I have a question about
feeding goat's milk to an infant. Mom says the doctor recommended it as
okay-to give the powder or condensed an reconstitute following the
directions, its pastureized. She asked a friend if goats milk- fresh-that
isn't pastuerized would be okay. The babe is two months old and plenty
health she said. She is not bfeeding, don't know why but wanted to give her
access to the info I could find. My nutrition text says feeding an infant
goat's milk carries the risk of the babe developing goat's milk anemia, a
megablastic anemia characterisitc of folate deficiency. Could this mom
appropriately supplement needed vitamins and minerals. She seems happy with
things as they are and isn't worried. Kind of gets me worried though, but
maybe I am just lacking in knowledge. I am not receiving the list, so
please contact me privately. Thanx a bunch in advance.
