When you introduce solids, you are actually in the process of weaning.  The
substitution of another food for breastmilk will naturally alter the supply
and demand cycle.  This interruption may be enough to signal the body to
ovulate, so alternate birth control (other than lactation amenorrhea) may be
in order.

To reintroduce after a long absence:  I teach childbirth and parenting classes
privately and at a local hospital.  I am also a LLL Leader as well as a
lactation consultant who is very glad to be back reading such an interesting
list!
