Hi Lois. I understood you to say mom doesn't want to dry milk up
completely, only reduce leaking, etc at night. So I would not recommend
the drying up methods for fear of causing her to wean earlier than she
wanted. I would do as you said, nurse before bedtime, perhaps use a
little cold cabbage leaves (not too long) and see if time will take care
of the problem. Also, an extra pad on the bed that is waterproof may
help. Let us know how it works.
