We use a lot of soy milk at home due to a severe dairy allergy tht my
daughter has. Right on the cartons of any brand of soy milk, it states
in bold letters 'NOT TO BE USED AS INFANT FORMULA'. While soy milk is
fortified witn some vitamins and minerals, it is lacking in some
vitamins, and contains ther vitamins that soy milk lacks. Some soy
milks are fortified with calcium, for example, others are not. The soy
milk I have is fortified with vitamin D, folate, and potassium. Others
are not. I do not have any formula at home :) (never did- my kids are
ages 5 to 11), so I'm not sure what the exact differences are to
formula. Someone else have any ideas??

The other thought I have is that soy is a potential strong allergen for
infants under a year old. It's listed right up there with corn, milk,
berries, citrus, and peanuts.
