Just had a thought. I didn't pay much attention to the recent discussion
about nippits, but I saw them on TV the other day and wondered if they might
be useful for taping the feeding tubes of the Lact-Aid (which most mothers
only tape in the beginning), but especially the SNS, which is much more
difficult to use without tape.
Tape is often a problem, because pulling it off repeatedly can cause skin
damage, and some women have allergic reactions to the glue on even the paper
tape.

Has anyone seen the Nippits close up? I also wonder if the texture would be
any less noticable to the baby. It is usually not a problem with young
babies, but some babies who are starting to nurse (or starting to get
supplement at the breast) at an older age are bothered by the feel of tape
on their mouths. Of course, I am sure the Nippits would be more expensive
than the tape that is most often used (paper tape or pink hairsetting tape)
but there may be a situation where a baby would accept the breast better
with it, or a mom who has sensitive skin would do better. I am sure that
the savings from avoiding buying even a little bit of formula would buy
quite a few of them!
