please urgent!

I have a mother of a 2 months old who was told to wean while she takes
Omeprazole (20 mg/day). The drug was prescribed for an open stomach
ulcer, for a period of 6 weeks. The mother is currently pumping and
discarting her milk.
The doctor said that he had no information available concerning the
effect of that drug on nursing infant and that she had to wean.
Does ayone has information on that drug? Can the mother use another
drug? Is the doctor playing it safe?
I did find something in the 4th edition of Briggs, but not enough to
really help.
TIA
