Sorting thru copies of the Keeping Abreast Journal 1976-1978, J.L. Avery, Editor When we think we haven't accomplished anything or it is same old, same old it's good to look back at this really old stuff and realize how far we have come!!!

The article that caught my eye today is "In-depth Breastfeeding Class "by Nancy Goodman, 1978. Dayton Childbirth Education Association started an in-depth breastfeeding class with Jean Cotterman as the first instructor in 1974. The content of the two and a half hour session consisted of research conducted by Ms. Cotterman on a one-to-one basis with breastfeeding mothers and information she found in medical and scientific literature. The class has continued to evolve, because the instructors have gained valuable information from following many mothers through their breastfeeding experience.

The article goes on to describe the class content . The cartoons in the journals are fun too. Pat in SNJ
