Hello Kathy and others. I also have a private practice and am a LLL leader
and have kids, husband, dog who need me. I also seem to have volunteered for
school functions because I have a "flexible" schedule. Right now I should be
working on a major presentation for an LC Exam Study course several of us are
doing. I haven't cleaned my house in weeks. But I do try to see moms within 2
days of when they call depending on their desperation level. They don't get a
lot of follow up from the hospitals and when things aren't going well they
need to be seen quickly. I don't think I could have managed with a
preschooler. My youngest is 9 and I do almost all my homevisits during the
school day. Still there are times I'm unavailable and I'm thinking I need to
arrange more specific backup arrangements with colleagues. Thanks for the
opportunity to vent. Marilee Woodworth,IBCLC.
