I have a friend who had breast reduction surgery as a teen. (her breasts
were so large and heavy that she was getting back aches - it was not
just cosmetic).Unfortunately, the nipples and areolas were removed and
then put back on. the ducts were severed, obviously. bfing was not even
in her mind at this point. She had 3 kids. from what she described to
me, her milk would come in , but it could not get out. sounds like this
mom Lisa is working with.I don't know exactly what was done for her,
relieve the engorgement and help dry up the milk.
Anyway, I don't think there is any alternative route out of the breasts
than the nipple pores, unfortunately. How very frustrating to know that
your bod
y is producing milk, but you can't get it out and to your baby.

This was a source of great sadness for her. Even with her third baby,
she hadn't given up all hope, and was still trying to see if there was a
way for her to bf. I think a mom in this situation needs A LOT of
support.
