The comment about a Dad settling/ or not settling a crying baby reminds
me of this story:
(sorry not really breastfeeding related) One of the
slightly-older-than-me nurses once shared with me how her dh made poached
eggs and toast for supper while she worked evenings, it wasn't the meal
she would choose, but the kids were fed and well cared for. That was his
way of handling supper and there was nothing wrong with it, just
different.
Sometimes my kids call me at work with a minor crisis, I usually
tell them, talk to Dad, he is in charge. (No, I'm not implying I am the
one in charge when we are both home!) The kids think they may get an
answer they like better from me.
My point: Give the guys some space! There is more than ONE way to
give child care or baby care.
Our youngest just adores her father. When she was a toddler and he
came home from work, I was dogmeat! She dropped me like a hot potato and
the rest of the evening was with Dad. It bothered me a little bit at
first, then I thought, Well who WOULDN'T adore the wonderful guy!

cool spring.

BTW-My monthly prenatal breastfeeding class was great tonight! I open
with an idea from JHL, to have health benefits for mom and baby written
on laminated cards and passed out to each person/couple, then they
mention one or two that are of interest to them, and I expound a little.
