He needs a reference for this?  Oh what a long way we have to go if
obstetricians do not know that women can be amenorrheic for 14 months
or more if they are breastfeeding.  Reference, doctor, please, that
this is abnormal and that your ignorance is sufficient reason to tell
a woman to wean her baby.
