One of the pediatricians I work for was interviewed for this discussion as
well.  (Dr. Ari Brown)  It was regarding the BPA found in the ready to feed
formula.  All of this is working out quite nicely for promoting
breastfeeding!  Let's see:  they now recommend that you boil the water and
mix the powdered formula with the boiling water, so that if there is any
bacteria in the non-sterile formula, you will kill it before feeding it to
your baby.  You should also sterilize the bottles/nipples before each use,
as formula grows bacteria quite readily, so must use sterile containers.  OR
you could use the ready-to-feed formula, that is made under sterile
conditions, but then you have the risk of too much BPA exposure.  (........)
I LOVE IT!  I intend to use this info. in my breastfeeding classes, because
it REALLY shows the ease and importance of "breastfeeding" (even over breast
milk feeding)!
