I apologize if I have the posts on dysfunctional suck confused. I am the mom
who wrote about laryngomalacia a couple weeks ago regarding my newborn.

The posts I just read were quite interesting. Here is our latest. My daughter
still makes the funny sounds but they don't seem to be causing a problem. She
seems comfortable, is more than 1 lb over birth weight at 3 weeks, and has a
normal daytime nursing pattern.

The odd thing is that I have to force her to nurse most nights. She sleeps
with me but would sleep for 5-6 hours if I let her. She is not lethargic, just
not interested at night. During the day she nurses every 1-3 hours depending on
the day and has had 2-3 normal growth spurtish days so far where we nurse all
day long.

She also had huge meconium poops for the first 2-3 days then they
transitioned THEN she started missing 1-2 days between stools. At first I was very
worried but upon weighing her on my Medela baby weigh saw that she was gaining
over an ounce per day. She stools every 1-2 days all day HUGE, filling the diaper
yellow orange breastmilk poops...exactly what you want to see. On the days
she poops she has 6-7 of these then the next 1--2 days nothing. She does not
strain to poop, never acts uncomfortable, is totally alert and wide eyed, and
her head and length are growing also. Her pattern goes against everything that
makes sense to me, especially not waking for the long stretch at night. Any
thoughts? Heather Dana
