Hi All,
I discovered yesterday, much to my horror and anger, that a set of dishes we
had bought from a local store contains LEAD! We have been using these dishes
for the past 2 1/2 years (Through my pregnancy and after). The store is
letting me return them, prob'ly to avoid a legal battle if we have too much
lead in our sytems.
My questions are this...
If there is a higher than considered safe level of lead in my sytem, what is
the possible content of lead in my breastmilk? I do not plan to quit BF as
it is too important to my child and I and neither of us seem to be
experiencing lead poisoning symptoms (but to be honest, I don't know what all
the symptoms are :( ). If treatment is needed, is BF still OK?
Any advice greatly appreciated. I will be trying to find a place for my son
and I to get tested ASAP.
TIA bunches!
Jay
P.S. At the store we bought the dishes at, 95% of all the dishes they had
for sale contained lead!! You're just not safe anywhere these days!
