Perhaps someone has had experience with this. I have a client that had a
resistant case of Thrush for all of the 10 months that she nursed her first
son. She is currently nursing her second child, has had Thrush since he was
4 weeks old, he is now 4 months old. She has tried Nystatin, Gentian
Violet, and is finishing a two week course of Dyflucan. That aside she has
had great difficulty getting him to accept a bottle of EBM that has been
stored (either by refrigerator or freezer) longer than 24 hours. Dad has
tried both fresh and stored milk, he says that milk which is older than 24
hours is incredibly bitter and is assuming that this is why the baby refuses
it. Since the yeast isn't destroyed during refrigeration or freezing am I
in left field to speculate that the yeast is consuming the lactose rendering
the milk bitter?
