Okay, ready for my soapbox. When it comes to public
health, I am so exhausted by the American pervasive
view of how much more important the INDIVIDUAL is over
the SOCIETY. Galactosemia rates vary--please see one
website below for more specifics. But we are talking
at a maximum about ONE in 40,000. While I am not
diminishing that ONE, please lets look at how many do
not have it. Perhaps someone would also consider a
letter with this bent. I promise I will send one.
And while we don't know the true goal of the article,
but have to agree that any individual that writes such
garbage under the guise of informing the public about
an extremely rare disorder, doesn't care about the
SOCIETY.

Also, I long for all the feminists to stand up when
something like this is written about one of their most
precious resources and is attacked in such a way.
Take care.
Pam, who is stepping off her soapbox now.
