Help please,
I have a mum who is losing weight to the point that family are putting her
under extreme pressure to wean her 9mth old. She is naturally slim and
athletic and finds it hard to gain weight at any time. She is looking
quite
thin but adores breastfeeding her little boy, who is very healthy and an
excellent weight. Do any of you have suggestions, studies, information
that
might help this mum. She is determined not to wean, but family pressure is
very strong. I have supplied her with info re breastmilk is best, but she
knows this and the call from the family is that she needs to look after
herself, that 9 months is long enough, etc. Is anyone a dietician? what
are
the recommendations for gaining weight? She eats a very healthy diet. Her
general health is good, hair shiny, skin great. She has lost quite a bit
of
 weight though.
 TIA
