Dutch babies are being and have been bathed from day one on and I don't think
umbilical cord infections are any higher heere then anywhere els. It is
common practice both in hospitals and at home (after home birth).
therapeutical co-bathing in the early days/weeks (as long as vaginal bleeding
occurs) is often discouraged for fear of maternal infections.I think that
fear is not evidence based either.
