I have encountered a few moms at our breastfeeding support group that have
been using Ezzo. The bood was referred to them by church friends. One mom
in particular was expressing extreme frustration with her 3 week old and
trying to schedule him. She was following the book very carefully and was
not enjoying parenting. It was neat to hear the reactions of other moms in
the group. There help insisted that she drop the book and sit back and be
more flexible. Observe her baby and enjoy!

Aside from Ezzo....has anyone encountered couples that have taken the
"Bradley" method of childbirth education? We occassionaly get one and they
often are hard to deal with. This is a pre-natal education sequence
apparently by lay persons. I would be interested in any background info
someone may have to help better understand where they are coming from. We
always cringe when these couples enter the hospital. They are generally
skeptical of hospitals and any interventions. We try our best to work with
them, but when something goes other than expected they are difficult to
educate. We presently, have a premie in SCN with parents that are Bradley
educated. Mom wishes to breastfeed....baby is still too imature to do what
moms expects. I have (as well as the nurses) tried very hard to work with
them and become very frustrated. I don't feel we are rigid with our
care......but, it seems that no matter what we try to say/do there is a brick
wall between us. This lady has a rigid personality and appears to be very
controlling in other aspects in her life. She is a great candidate for PPD.
I have discussed my concerns with her OB and his comment....."I had her for
33 weeks and you nurses have had her only for 1 1/2 weeks......she was like
this the whole pregnancy". We have alerted Social Services...but, if they
should intervene....her reaction may be with fury. Her husband appears to be
more manageable but, he is trying to help his wife and be an advocate. Now
that I have vented....what I really need is more history on this method of
education.
