Once again, breastfeeding guilty until proved otherwise. Once again
wean "just in case". Once again, formula innocent until proved
otherwise. There is no reason absolutely to be concerned about this
situation. There is nothing in the milk that is likely to bother a
five month old. Conjugated bilirubin should not cause a problem for a
5 month old even if it got into the milk, which it shouldn't. There
is no reason a baby cannot handle extra phenylalanine, if there is
this stuff in Questran (cholestyramine). By the way, breastmilk
contains *less* phenylalanine than formulas. Cholestyramine is not
absorbed from the mother's gut. Therefore, it cannot get into the
milk.

"A bad chest infection". Yah, *maybe* the mother needed erythromycin,
but chances are she didn't. Too many antibiotics. Too many side
effects.
