Dear friends,
Breasts do change, no matter what, as do eyes and chins and necks and upper arms, not to speak of tights and our sitting device. They keep on developing a bit between 20 and 30 and then start to go down and loose. Pregnancy is a main factor in breast change an not breastfeeding a born given birth to is not going to prevent that.
For breasts that do not have the shape you want, there are all kinds of acceptable measurements and aids to hide or restore or ''enhance''. For the lack of lactating (maternal side) or breastfeeding (infant side) there is no truly acceptable alternative in terms of health outcomes and psychological development.

Warmly,
Gonneke, IBCLC, LLLL in southern Netherlands

Hi Deborah,

Well, she said it. It is a bit shallow, right? I don't think a mother who
can
give up breastfeeding for that reason truly understands or believes in the
factual health benefits of breastfeeding and risk factors of formula feeding.

I have to admit, my breast size was reduced by at least a cup size when I
nursed my son for one year. I nursed my daughter for a year as well and I
don't think my breast are any smaller after nursing two babies. Like you,
I
don't think time makes a difference.

It does seem to me that more women are concerned with what breastfeeding
might do to their' breasts. It's just one of those things we need to
be willing
to give up for the wellness of our children. I think the most important thing
is
for women to be truly educated about all the reasons for breastfeeding.
Hopefully, once they feel excited and confident about nursing their'
babies,
the vanity of beautiful, full and bouncy breasts will fade.

However, on a personal note, I can say honestly that I did not lose any more
breast tissue with my second.
Good luck
Laura
