I asked "
Mother has lump near the armpit. Nipple area is bruised black and blue,
she cannot express anything out of it, 16mo nursling doesn't get
anything out of it either. No fever. Docter doesn't know what to do. I
suggested massaging and cabbage leaves, with no effect yet."

The mother hadn't used the cabbage leaves, bc several people, including a
lC, had told her that cabbage would decrease her milksupply. But she was is
such a pain and nothing helped that she finally run to the shop to buy a
cabbage. She put some cabbage leaves in her bra and a couple of hours the
lump was gone and her milk started to come out again.

The mother thougth that the bruises on her nipple area was caused by the
sucking of her 16mo toddler. He tried very hard to get out any milk,
without succes. This makes sense to me, since sucking on another bodypart
can cause bruises too and the nipple didn't "give in" by releasing milk.
The mother told she bruises easily.

I am still surprised that the plugged duct caused that the breast didn't
released any milk anymore. I guess that her letdown didn't work anymore.
Although even then a few drups would have come out. Any ideas???
