I keep thinking about this mother and baby. I wonder if the mother would be
interested in trying Domperidone for a while, to see if it will increase her
milk production, and at the same time increase the number of feedings as
much as possible, to increase the fat in her milk and the baby's intake. I
am wondering if the issue is that the mother's milk production really is
marginal, and the baby's just not quite getting enough to eat. It seems to
me that this could lead to some developmental delays. While this baby seems
a bit slow, she is still in the normal range from what has been described,
and I've certainly seen many babies at a year who resisted solid foods,
would not take food from a spoon, etc. But combining a dislike of solids,
possible food allergies, and a marginal milk supply may be what is causing
this problem.
