Anne Marie Widstrom told me that from their studies, it can indeed take 
2 hours for epidural exposed infants to latch. Look at her papers, and 
those of Bystrova (her collegue) and Jonas and colleagues have a whole 
series on the effect of epidurals (including one that shows half the 
oxytocin levels after birth in women who had an epidural during labor).
