Have you read the info on the study done on grapefruit seed extract?
The organic was found not to be helpful, the regular was helpful.
Difference between the two? The non-organic contained triclosan - which
is an antibacterial chemical used as a preservative. The researchers
concluded that the triclosan is what helped - not the grapefruit seed
extract. If Dr. Tom is correct in his research - what we think is
thrush is really staph. Gentian violet is a potent anti-staph agent and
would work well in pregnancy also. We have used that before with great
results.

Subject: Grapefruit Seed Extract during pregnancy?

Does anyone know whether or not Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) is safe
for use during pregnancy? I was talking with a mom today who is pregnant
and has thrush. I haven't had much luck finding any info on the safety
of GSE during pregnancy. I can't really see why it wouldn't be safe,
especially the liquid used topically, but I was wondering if anyone has
any experience with it's
use during pregnancy.
