As I research breast pumps and make notes based on the mfg claims, i've taken note of their stated cycling and vacuum levels. ALL electric pumps give the same basic ranges

Cycling: 30-80, 30-60, 35-65 (most common), and the nebulous "adjustible" or "varies".
Vacuum: 30-250, 50-240 (most common), 50-250.

There is only one brand that does NOT list either cycling or vacuum on any online descriptions I've found so far.
That would be Medela. Can't find this data for any of their models.
Maybe it's on their Patent documents. Haven't checked those yet.

Question: what is the essence or the function or the motor strength that makes the difference we are talking about when we say: Standard vs Industrial Strength or Maintenance vs Initiation / Volume Increasing or Personal Use vs Hospital Grade?
The companies all claim the same vacuums and cycling for all the electric pumps, no matter which of these definitions are assigned to the pump.
We need some descriptive term that will clairfy the issue for insurance companies that just choose the lowest bidder.
And it needs to be acceptable to hospitals and to mothers. Tall order, that.

I can't throw Single User vs Multi User in that mix because it has just as much reference to the kit design: open vs closed, as it does to the durability of the motor.
