I am sorry I may not be able to help regarding Olaplex specifically but I usually follow some basic guidelines for looking at safety of medications or dyes such as age of the baby, mother's health history. If a baby is exclusively bf period then it is best avoid all forms of avoidable chemicals especially since baby still has a physiologic open gut before around 6 months. If baby is a bf toddler and is also on solids it may possible for the relax the choice a bit. But most importantly I would always encourage mom to find a natural alternative for hair dye. I found organic henna with organic indigo powder to be excellent hair natural dye for black hair or combination of its composition to try various other shades of dye.

Hope that helps

Take Care

Hello all!
I have had a woman ask me about the safety of a new hair dye called Olaplex and breastfeeding. It is supposedly non-toxic but, of course, the website recommends against breastfeeding because of the unknowns. Anyone have any up to date information on this? Lactmed did not have any information. Thanks! (cross posted in facebook)
