My daughter was put on Prednisone at a local ER for a severe case of
croup. She was given 10 ml of 15 mg pred. at the hospital and was given
a script for 2 more additional days at home of the 15mg pred. at 5 ml per
day.
After giving the initial dose of the pred. she didn't have any more
problems with the croup.....just fever of 103.3 for the next two days.
She was really fussy beyond the next couple of days doses and would nurse
constantly for the next three days. I now realize that she had an
increased appetite and within 2-3 days later had returned to her normal
cheery self. Thank you for the insight on the increase in appetite
while taking pred.
The other coincidence is that during this time, I kept telling my husband
that the baby just felt heavier and I even went and changed her diaper
size from a size 3 to a 4.
